Disney's Illusion of Life - TV!
Thought I'd dig through my dusty video collection and post up a few cool things. First is the "Wonderful World of Disney-Disney Animation: The Illusion of Life". Aired in 1981 and hosted by a grown up Hayley Mills this "making of" style show features interviews with Ward Kimball, Frank Thomas, Ollie Johnston, Milt Kahl, Eric Davis, Eric Larson and more. It's more of an extension of the book as it more or less explains the Disney animation process and it's history but it's a nice time capsule of a studio that had matured and was in the transition out of the "Nine Old Men". I've ripped a few clips and I'll be uploading them over the next little while. Here's the first two:
